About Me

Hi! I'm Joshua, a passionate web developer based in South Florida with a focus on building clean, functional websites and applications. My goal is to create seamless user experiences through thoughtful design and efficient code. I am a student at Palm Beach Atlantic University studying Mathematics with a concentration in physics and minors in computer science and economics. I enjoy learning about mathematics and its applications in the real world and am currently studying for the Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams to become an actuary. My current coding projects include a poker equity calculator and a Texas Instruments-style financial calculator. Follow my socials for updates, but in the meantime, check out some of my past projects!

Past Projects

COVID Simulation Project

Simulation of Model Actual Data from the CDC

As part of a Computational Modeling course, I gained foundational knowledge in applying differential equations alongside computer modeling techniques. For my final project, I developed a model to simulate the spread of COVID-19 using data-driven parameters sourced from CDC data. The model's outcomes closely mirrored actual CDC data, demonstrating the effectiveness of the approach in predicting disease dynamics. Above is a picture of the simulation results (top) coupled with CDC statistics (bottom).

Modern Physics Laboratory Research

Part of the Lab Setup Bending the Electron Beam

As part of our Modern Physics course, my colleagues and I have been collaborating with the head of the Engineering Department to develop a new series of cutting-edge physics laboratories. Above is one of many new apparati; it utilizes Maxwell's Equations to bend an electron beam and measure the charge-to-mass ratio of the electron. Through careful experimentation and iterative testing, we refined the apparatus to ensure both accuracy and reliability in data collection. This and other associated projects gave me hands-on experience in the world of theoretical physics, as well as data collection.

LETSPACE Rocket 1

Our Rocket Design

I collaborated with a team of fellow students in a Rocketry Club (LETSPACE), where we designed, built, and successfully launched a high-powered rocket that reached an altitude of 500 meters. Working closely with my peers, I gained extensive hands-on experience in engineering design principles, aerodynamic modeling, and the practical challenges of real-world project implementation. Additionally, I developed key skills in project management, documentation, and team leadership. This experience not only strengthened my technical abilities but also deepened my passion for aerospace technology and inspired me to pursue further opportunities in the field of space exploration and engineering innovation.

Eagle Scout Project

My Eagle Project

It's also important to me to help my community. For my Eagle Scout Project, I collaborated with fellow members of my troop to design, map, and mark a new hiking trail within a local park, enhancing the community's outdoor experience. Although challenging, completing Eagle taught me valuable skills in leadership, project management, problem solving, and time managment.
